Airway and breathing

  • Spontaneous breathing synchronized with selected breath rate (0-60 bpm) when activated

  • Visible chest rise and fall

  • Variable respiratory rates

  • Anterior and posterior lung sound auscultation sites (refer to the Speakers overview section)

Airway complications and interventions

  • Tongue edema

  • Unilateral and bilateral lung closure

  • Can’t intubate and Can’t ventilate

  • Head tilt and Chin lift

  • Jaw thrust with articulated jaw

  • Cricoid pressure and manipulation

  • Simulated suctioning (oral and nasopharyngeal)

Artificial respiration

  • Bag Valve Mask (BVM) ventilation

  • Laryngeal Mask (LMA) placement

  • Endotracheal intubation:

    - Orotracheal intubation
    - Nasotracheal intubation
  • Supports Sellick Maneuver

  • Realistic airway with uvula, vocal cords, and esophagus

  • Right mainstem intubation

  • Simulated oxygen delivery via:

    - Nasal cannula
    - Simple, Partial Re-breather, Non-Re-breather and Venturi Masks
    - T-Piece Resuscitator
    - CPAP mask

WARNING

Oxygen should not be administered to the Patient Simulator. There is a risk of fire.
